My Favorite Dollar Tree Finds

I L O V E living close to the Dollar Tree, more than I anticipated actually. I used to drop in and get random things there if I drove by and had spare time; but, NOW that it is so close to my house I feel much more familiar with the smart things to get there and am LOVING IT!

So, here are some of my favorite Dollar Tree Finds::

[side note:: this totally is NOT sponsored-[though that would be pretty amazing if it was 😉 ] I just love sharing cheap happiness with friends. I don’t know why, I’m like a walking advertisement when I buy cheap things or anything that I love really. So here we go!]

1. Storage Containers:: I just discovered their storage container section and am in LOVE. I have been annoyed with my disorganized little pantry lately and I spent $5 on 5 storage containers and finally feel like my little pantry is organized and I can fit more in there by using these.

2. Brown Paper Wrapping Paper:: My friend Sally got me on to this brown wrapping paper from the Dollar Tree a year ago. I love it because it works for a n y occasion, is cheap, and you can make it cute with tweed rope, bows, or colorful ribbons, etc. You canNOT beat $1 for all purpose wrapping paper.

Family Scriptures of the Week Printable

I have had a couple friends ask me for my list of family scriptures we use as a family every week so I thought I would make up a list of our weekly family scriptures we’ve used the past year or so. By “weekly” I mean sometimes weekly, sometimes monthly, sometimes every other week, sometimes a month and a half. 🙂 It depends how well my kiddos are memorizing the scripture before we switch it, and how well I am remembering to practice it with them. 🙂

Here’s what I do….and, I am super fancy {NOT}. I just write our scripture with a chalk pen on our microwave and whenever we are ready to change it, I wipe it off with a wet paper towel and we’re on to the next one. {thankfully our house we’re in now has a black microwave which is way easier to read}

28-Day Taking Control of Your Phone Challenge

I don’t know if y’all are guilty of this, BUT I have the problem frequently of having a constantly dead or almost dead phone {because I never charge it} and spend more time on it than I need to. I normally am going on to check something intentionally, like the weather or my email..next thing you know it’s been 20 minutes and I’ve been on Instagram and Facebook and just got strung into things when I just needed to check the weather! Don’t get me wrong, I love all of these things and phones are SUCH a blessing–but, I want to be in control of my phone and my time instead of the other way around.

Isn’t it sad how addicted we all our to our phones? My worst nightmare {that thankfully hasn’t come to pass yet} is that my kids will get asked what their mom likes to do for fun and they’ll say “look at her phone!” Oh my gosh, I would die if that ever happened. I SO don’t want to be one of those non present but physically there people all the time. And, I want them to see their momma developing talents, playing with them, serving them, and just being available.

So, in an effort to reach one of my new year’s goals {to be a more present mom–check my goals here} I made this 28 day challenge for myself for the month of February in regards to taking control of my phone time and making it a doable, realistic, and just plain HEALTHY habit for myself.
